TIJUANA MAQUILADORA TOUR
Come to learn about Tijuana maquiladora workers' conditions and struggles!
SATURDAY, JUL 21 and OCT 20, 2007, 9 am to 3:30 pm
SCHEDULE
9:00 am sharp: Meet at the San Ysidro Trolley Station. We will walk together, cross the border gate and travel to our locations in Tijuana using chartered buses for transportation.
9:45-10 am: The crosses at the border: more than 4,000 immigrants have died trying to cross the international border
10:30-10:45 am: Metales y Derivados-Otay Industrial Park
11- 11:30 am: Ejido Chilpancingo-Rio Alamar neighborhood
11:45 am-12:00 pm: Sony
NOTE: We will visit Tijuana industrial area but won't enter any factory.
12:30-1:00 pm Lunch at Cittac's office
1- 3 pm: Cittac's office (Cittac: Centro de Informacion para Trabajadores y Trabajadoras; Workers' Information Center): Struggles and labor conditions in the maquiladoras
3:30 pm: Return to San Ysidro border line
DONATIONS
US: $30 regular, $20 students
Donations cover the bus, lunch, and a donation to Tijuana worker organizations
