Organizers of the Pacific Life Holiday Bowl now operate a second bowl game in San Diego; this one pits a team from the Mountain West Conference against an at-large opponent. The bowl kicked off in 2005 with a matchup between the United States Naval Academy Midshipmen and the Colorado State University Rams. The Navy won the inaugural game 51-30.
